As - Construct BIM

The BIM concept envisages virtual construction of a facility prior to its actual physical construction, in order to reduce uncertainty, improve safety, work out problems, and simulate and analyze potential impacts. Sub-contractors from every trade can input critical information into the model before beginning construction, with opportunities to pre-fabricate or pre-assemble some systems off-site. Waste can be minimised on-site and products delivered on a just-in-time basis rather than being stock-piled on-site. (Ref: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Building_information_modeling)

Belows are some deliverables in our projects to illustrate the value of BIM.

ELS Construction Works

The inherent geographical constraints of the construction site, unfavorable underground conditions, interfacing issues arisen amongst the multi-disciplinary trades of works, and the increased public expectation for timely commissioning, had posed particular difficulties to the designer, resident engineer and contractors to integrate and execute various parts of the ELS construction work. BIM helps to validate and optimize the solutions in respect of engineering design, risk management and public interests before the construction start. The diagrams show the co-ordination of ELS Works with structure, underground utilities, last manholes etc.

Construction sequence planning and simulation

MTECH can create 3D construction sequence simulation model to valid the construction method in-corporate with safety issues. The “4D Simulation” allows project geometry to be tied to project schedule activities in Microsoft Project or Primavera, enhancing visualization of project schedules. So the project schedules can be easily understood and refined by the design team and main contractor, facilitate detection of logistics issues, and support validation of the project schedule by the project manager. This integration of project schedule information with building geometry can support additional insight into project logistics and procurement, including determination of subcontract scope and resource planning. Cortona3D offers native capabilities for developing the 4D simulation.
